National Executive Meeting of BJP Human Rights Cell
“Growth of a country cannot be judged solely in terms of its financials or GDP or armories. The real growth comes in terms of well-being of the inhabitants and their rights being valued. It is the duty of the BJP workers to ensure that the human rights of not a single person of the country are violated and those who are being exploited should get justice,” said national vice president of BJP Shri Bhagat Singh Koshyari while concluding the national executive meeting of BJP Human Rights Cell in New Delhi on August 5.
Incharge of the Cell Shri Avinash Rai Khanna, BJP general secretaries Shri JP Nadha, Shri Vijay Goel and spokesperson Shri Shahnawaj Hussein also addressed the workers. About 250 delegates from 20 states attended the meeting.
Inaugurating the meeting Shri JP Nadda said human right is not a new or an imported word. Rather it finds roots in India itself. He quoted from the Vedas and the Puranas about the duties and the rights of human-beings.
Shri Avinash Rai Khanna condemned the incidents of live telecast of conversion of Hindus in Pakistan. He said he would raise the issue in Parliament and he has also appealed to Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and Minister of External Affairs Shri SM Krishna to look into the matter and register India’s protest against such incidents. He appealed to the Human Rights Cell workers to extend help to the Pakistani Hindus who are staying as refugees in different parts of the country.
Shri Vijay Goel asked the workers to come forward and fight against social evils. He also suggested to raise strong voice against violations. Shri Shahnawaj Hussain asked the members to reach the people at large and discuss the problems faced by them. He also suggested the members to remain vigilant of coloured human right activists who raise voice for rights of the terrorists and Mioists but remain silent when general public or security personnel suffer due to the attacks by these terrorits or Maoists.
BJP national secretary Shri Shyam Jaju and national convener of the Human Rights Cell Shri Sudhir Aggarwal also addressed the delegates. During the meeting two books Sankalp Abhiyan-Pad Yatra and Performance Report 2010-11 were also released. Some social activists and conveners, co-conveners from various states were also hounoured at the meeting for their exemplary work.
The issues affecting Jammu & Kashmir, Assam, Maoists attacks, incresing crime graph, suicide by farmers, etc were raised and discussed in detailes at the meeting.
