Workshop for imparting writing skills?

Vishwa Samvad Kendra, Kolkata, organised a day-long workshop to impart the training of writing letter to editors. Senior journalist Shri Rathindra Mohan Banerjee, who retired from Ananda Bazar Patrika and Bartaman imparted the training. Senior journalist Shri Ranjit Roy, who retired from The Statesman and The Telegraph and presently Bureau Chief of Hindusthan Samachar were also present. Shri Roy spoke about the importance of such workshops enabling common citizens to articulate their views on different issues in the media. He stressed that even the media and the publishing houses require and solicit proper participation from readers on all issues. A total of 55 people participated in the workshop. Out of them 26 successful candidates were presented certificates. Other eminent people present on the occasion included RSS Sah Prant Pracharak Shri Vidyut Mukherjee, Senior scientist at Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics,  Kolkata Dr Jishnu Basu, Dr Sivaji Bhattacharya and Subroto Chatterjee from VSK.
