MN Sukumaran Nambiar passes away?

MN Sukumaran Nambiar, son of the late legendary actor MN Nambiar, passed away in Chennai on January 8 following heart attack. He was 60. He held several key positions in various organisations. He served as president of the Ayyappa Sewa Samajam and general secretary of Dharma Rakshana Samiti.

He joined the BJP in 1991 and held key positions including the post of Treasurer. He was instrumental in forming an alliance between the AIADMK and BJP during 1998 and 2004. Chief Minister Jayalalithaa while condoling his death called him a ‘true patriot’. In a statement, she said, his death is indeed a great loss to the Bharatiya Janata Party. In his passing away, we have lost a true patriot and a person who untiringly served society. She recalled his expertise in several martial arts, with a black belt in Karate. Nambiar also trained the personnel of the Indian Army in martial arts. Like his father, he too evinced deep interest in spiritualism and was the president of the Ayyappa Seva Samajam, Jayalalithaa said.

BJP president Shri Nitin Gadkari, senior leader Shri Venkaiah Naidu, joint organising secretary Shri Satish, national executive committee member Shri L Ganesan, State party president Shri P Radhakrishnan and many other leaders attended the funeral. Various other leaders of the Sangh associated organisations also expressed condolence on his sudden demise.
