“SWAMI Laxmanananda Saraswati dedicated his whole life for the empowerment of Vanvasis. The forces which were exploiting them and those who were opposed to the empowerment of the Vanvasis killed Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati. Instead of arresting the culprits, the Orissa Government is trying to protect the murderers and conspirators in this case,” said Shri Jagbandhu Mishra, eminent journalist and editor of Rastradeep. He was speaking at a seminar organised in Bhubaneswar on third martyrdom anniversary of Swami Laxmanananda.

He said, “After Swamiji’s murder, the villagers apprehended two persons with blooded weapon and handed over them to the police. But the police did not interrogate them and set them free. Similarly, the police did not pay attention to the resolution passed at Kandhmal’s Betikala church prior to the assassination of Swamiji. It is quite clear that the Government of Orissa is trying to protect the murderers and conspirators.” He said Swami Laxamanananda was not merely a saint. He did not stay in his mutt and worked for the uplift of downtrodden and deprived people.

Swami Paranrupananda Saraswati said Swamiji through his sacrifice and sadhana did a tremendous work for the uplift of the Vanvasis. We should continue his work.
