Kisan Sangh declares nationwide drive against anti-farmer policies

THE that met in Varanasi from July 2 to 3 declared to conduct a nationwide awareness drive in coming three months. “The present policies are fully anti-farmers. We warn the government to enact farmer-friendly policies otherwise be ready to face the agitation,” warned national organising secretary of Kisan Sangh Shri Prabhakar Kelkar.

He said the meeting discussed at length the issues of corruption, price hike, profitable prices for farmers as per the cost of production, top priority to irrigation, change in Land Acquisition Act, etc. The proposed awareness drive will also highlight these issues. This agitation will be conduct at village, developmental blocks and district levels. If the government fails to enact farmer-friendly policies even after this drive, the farmers will then move to Delhi, Shri Kelkar said.

He said providing land of farmers to corporate giants is nothing but a conspiracy. The country is today facing Emergency like situation and even the Constitutional right, Freedom of Expression is being snatched away. More than 200 delegates were present at the meeting.
