Census Report – 2011 The shades of another UPA corruption

PROVISIONAL census figures for 2001-2011 decade have been submitted to the UPA Government on March 31, 2011. These figures are called “unadjusted figures” i.e. real figures and final figures are called “adjusted figures” i.e. cooked figures, as was done in the case of last decade (1991-2001) figures. Census – 2001 was carried out during Vajpayee’s NDA Government. But in the name of casting “adjusted figures”, the then Census Commissioner of India was forced by the Congress-led UPA Government to recast the figures in 2004.

In 1991-2001 census it was stressed on the overall demography of the nation, rate of growth as a whole and the religion-wise rise and fall, sex-ratio, literacy ratio amongst all sections and communities etc. In that Census Report Indian people saw the real threat of democratic trend of imbalances among the different religious groups which once brought division of our Mother Land on the basis of Koran-dictated Two-Nation Theory, Dar-ul-Harb Nation (Land of Enemy) and Dar-ul-Islam Nation (Land of Islam). In the “unadjusted figures” of Census Report – 2001 it was seen that during 1991-2001 decade, total population increased to 1.02 billion from 846 million in 1981-1991 decade. Though the overall growth rate decreased from 23.89 per cent in 1991 to 21.30 per cent in 2001 and in 2011 it further decreased to 17.64 per cent. But rate of growth of Hindus only decreased from 25.1 per cent in 1991 to 20.3 per cent in 2001 whereas rate of growth of Muslim population rose from 34.5 per cent in 1991 to 36 per cent in 2001. The disclosure of this fact of phenomenal growth of Muslim population infuriated the Congress Government against the Census Commissioner of India who was heckled, threatened and forced to recast the figures showing the lesser growth rate of Muslims in the so-called “adjusted figures”.

Quite unfortunately, Congress is in power during the preparation of Census Report – 2011 and could not allow the Census office to publish any data on religious demographic trend of Muslim and Christian population growth. In Census Report – 2011 it has been shown that the overall population growth slows down to 17.64 per cent from 21.30 per cent in 2001. But it has not been shown whether rate of growth of Muslim and Christian population also slows down or not. Obviously not. The slowing down of overall population growth is definitely due to slowing down of Hindu population growth and not due to Muslims who did not take part in population control measures.

This could be possible due to wrong Hindu approach of keeping their religion out of reach of state political power game.

Hindus are very much oblivious of their past history of continuous parting their ways to the Muslims and Christians from Hindukush ranges. In this year’s Census Report a new kind of controversy spread through the financially-patronised newspapers and magazines among different sex. In this way the relation between male and female is being vitiated raising the question of female foeticide and infanticide etc.

The oblivious Hindus involved themselves in this fratricidal fighting forgetting the implication of loosing their favourable voting share in the electoral battle for entry into the State Power citadel Parliament. In our number-based democratic set-up, keeping one’s own group’s numerical power in tact is essential as our Constitution, like Pakistan, does not provide any reservation for the majority Hindus.

The Hindus are fortunate that BJP was in power in 2000. Sensing the phenomenal growth of Muslim and Christians in some states and districts which might ensure their share in Parliament through the implementation of rescheduling the number of Parliamentary as well as Legislature Assembly seats in 2001, BJP –led NDA Government then freezed the policy till 2026 so that the Muslims and Christian-dominated states and districts could not be rewarded for not obeying the Government policy of family planning and the states which successfully pursued the family planning programmes are not put to any disadvantageous position with lesser seats. The policy of enhancing the number of seats in Parliament as well as Assemblies in 2001 could not be possible as BJP was in power. But in 2026 who will save the Hindus? Shall BJP be voted to power by Hindu voters for their own interests? Let’s see.

It may be remembered that in five North Eastern States (excluding Assam) Christian population grew from 39 per cent in 1991 to 45 per cent in 2001. Of these five states, Nagaland and Mizoram had almost become entirely Christian by 1991. In Arunachal Pradesh, the share of Christians has nearly doubled from 10 per cent to 19 per cent in 1991. Papum Pure district of Arunachal Pradesh is 30 per cent Christian and in Tirap their share rose from18 per cent in 1991 to 50 per cent in 2001. In Manipur, outer districts have already been almost entirely Christianized. In Meghalaya, Christian share rose from 64 per cent in 1991 to 70 per cent in 2001. What’s about 2011?
