BHARADIA’S novel is about human relationships that have gone sour. It is centred on Tina and Aditya whose love marriage, which begins ecstatically, is darkened by the shadow of Antara, his previous love, who continues to haunt him. Their troubles actually begin when Aditya presses Tina to give him a child, forces her to attend his business parties, and makes fun of her friends. Though the birth of a daughter brings some cheer in her life, it does not stop her from drinking to soothe her frayed nerves. Because she becomes an addict, she has to be put in a rehab. Back from there, she finds Aditya more loving than before, but shocked to know later that it is because Antara is back in his life. So she sends her children away, writes letters to her friends to attend her party at Mahabaleshwar, and leaves her home to be on her own.

Her letters brings her friends together, and we get to know about complications in their lives. Married to Umesh, Upasana has to put up with his temper and his physical violence. Kriya is a fashion designer who has gone up the ladder because of her father’s maneuverings. Later, when she exploits Smita and pushes her to commit suicide, she feels guilty. Manas lives with a woman for six years. When she leaves him, because he cannot settle down with her, he feels frustrated. Poorvi and Avinash have two daughters. Mad about getting a son, she terminates her pregnancy because she does not want another daughter, and looks upon herself as a murderess. Tina helps them to seek liberation from their troubled situation.
