A 24X7 Hindu helpline was launched jointly by noted theatre and movie artist Shri Sharad Ponkshe and VHP general secretary Dr Pravin Togadia in Pune on April 4.

Launching the helpline, Dr Togadia said, “While on travel or even otherwise, we all wish that there should be someone reliable around to help. Sometimes there is a sudden natural calamity or a personal health problem or an accident. In such emergencies, the helpline will play the role of a reliable friend of Hindus. All one needs to do is to call 020-66803300 or 075886 82181 and the Hindu Help Line (HHL) call centre will hear the caller out, pass on the immediate message to the HHL volunteer at the location where the caller has a problem and the local HHL volunteer will help the caller immediately.

Sometimes there is no problem but it feels nice and safe if someone reliable is there while on shopping or site seeing on a holiday. HHL will also try to reply queries regarding daily important things related to Hindu Dharma like muharat or some curiosities, as much possible. All over Bharat around 25,000 HHL volunteers and around 25,000 service providers are expected to be associated with Hindu Help Line for helping Hindus.”

Shri Sharad Ponkshe was conferred with the Hindu Ratna Award for Art & Culture as well as Dr Vinod Kaushik was given Hindu Ratna Award for Tribal Education and Empowerment. Hindu Ratna Award has been instituted for the persons and institutions doing notable work for Hindus in the fields of Art and Culture, Architecture, Protection of Heritage, Health, Justice, Business and Trade, Tribal and Rural Development, Agriculture, Labour welfare, Children and Women Development, etc. (FOC)
