RSS calls for Hindu-Muslim unity

FORMER RSS Sarsangha-chalak Shri KS Sudarshan called for Hindu-Muslim unity at a programme organised by the Muslim Rashtriya Manch in Bengaluru on September 15.

Speaking on the occasion Shri Sudarshan opined that “Hindu and Muslim society witnessed a huge divide after the arrival of Europeans especially the British. “They brought divide and rule policy in administration, which affected the lifestyle of both the communities in reality. Mountbatten’s efforts to keep a divide between Hindus and Muslims resulted in the country’s Partition in 1947. Unfortunately though British ruling is changed still the division between the two communities is there. We all need to build a harmonious society,” Shri Sudarshan said. “Though India has several communities with diverse ways of worship, yet we are all Hindus. Like a citizen of China is called as Chinese, of Japan Japanese, of Britain British, a person from Hindustan is called as Hindu only irrespective of the way of worship,” he added.

“Since the arrival of British in India during Shahjahan’s rule, they strategically brought Hindu-Muslim divide to make their business comfortable. Initially they made small Hindu-Muslim kings to fight against each other. Later they targeted the community at large. During 1857, they used greased cartridge. Mangal Pandey opposed it and he is remembered for his sacrifice. Later this division among the community saw worst situation when India got divided and new country Pakistan and Bangladesh were formed.”

“Though every one’s way of worship is different, humanity always stands first. Recently, parents of Siamese twins of Pakistan arrived in Bengaluru for surgery. The entire nation prayed for the success of surgery and offered mass prayers. This shows that we love humanity and we don’t have a cruel mentality to fight each other. But vote bank politics has made this wound of division unhealed. Pseudo-secular politicians want to keep this division forever so that they can survive,” he opined.

“India is a multilingual country. Hindi is considered to be a link language. Once Shri Guruji said in Coimbatore that all languages of India are national languages. Since Hindi is spoken by many in India hence it should be treated as a national link language. I believe that Urdu is also an Indian language among many other Indian languages,” he said.

“We should build a harmonious society by spreading brotherhood all along the spectrum. Pseudo-secular politicians target and blame RSS as anti-Muslim, but people who are familiar with the RSS know the truth. Our effort is to create hormony,” Shri Sudarshan said.

Senior Muslim leaders Anees-Ul-Haq, Jama Masjid’s Maulana Imran Sahib, Muslim Rashtriya Manch’s South India Convenor Abbas Ali Goura, Swami Rameshan Nair, Moulana Mohammad Julfikar, RSS National Executive Member Shri Jaydev and several other thinkers also participated in the programme.

The programme was organised by the Muslim Rashtriya Manch, Karnataka unit.
