VETERAN Sangh Pracharak Bansilal Sonee passed away at Bisuddhananda Marwari Hospital on August 21. He was 80. His elder brother Anantlal Sonee was also a Pracharak and died three years ago. All his seven brothers are swayamsevaks. Born in Kolkata he became a swayamsevak in early forty and dedicated his life to nation in early 1960s.
He started his Pracharak life from Srirampur in Hooghly district. Afterwards he was in charge of entire North Bengal and became Malda Vibhag Pracharak. During Emergency he was Kolkata Mahanagar Pracharak. After Emergency he was Office Secretary of BJP. Later, he was given in charge of BJP’s units in Assam and Orissa. Since last few years, he returned to Sangh work and became Kshetra Sampark Pramukh. Last year he relinquished all responsibilities due to sickness.
His body was brought to Keshav Bhawan where hundreds of swayamsevaks paid tribute to the departed soul. Kshetra Sanghachalak Shri Ranendralal Bandopadhyaya, Prant Sanghachalak Shri Atul Biswas, National Executive Member Srikrishna Motlag, Prant Pracharak Shri Ramapada Pal, Sah Prant Pracharak Shri Bidyut Mukherjee, Mahanagar Sanghachalak Shri Biswanath Mukherjee, former Union Minister Shri Tapan Sikdar also paid tribute.
