THE 91-day Hanumat Shakti Jagran campaign to generate awakening for reconstruction of Shri Ramjanmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya, began on Goswami Tulsidas birth anniversary (August 16) across the country. After conducting functions in more than three lakh villages, lakhs of urban colonies and in ten lakh temples involving more than five crore Hindus, the first phase of the campaign will conclude on November 17.
Crores of people have started chanting Hanuman Chalisa for 11 times daily and it will continue till November 17. The Rambhaktas participating in the campaign are urging the government to enact a law in the Parliament allowing reconstruction of Sri Ram temple in Ayodhya as was done in case of Somnath temple in Gujarat.
Inaugurating the campaign in Delhi, VHP general secretary Dr Pravin Togadia said the saints have made it clear that Sri Ram temple would be built only at the birthplace of Sri Ram in Ayodhya and no mosque would be allowed to be built inside the cultural boundary of Ayodhya. Similar functions were held at 21 places in Delhi simultaneously. According to media incharge of VHP Delhi Shri Vinod Bansal, the chanting of Hanuman Chalisa is being done in more than 5,000 temples of Delhi every day.
There are reports of organising similar functions in different parts of the country. VHP president Shri Ashok Singhal addressed a massive gathering in Kochi, Kerala, while Shri Dinesh Chandra addressed a huge gathering in Ayodhya. Senior leaders, Shri Rajendra Pankaj was in Patna, Shri Jiveshwara Mishra was in Shimla while Shri Champat Rai was present in Delhi.
The function in Varanasi began in the premises of Nati Imali Bharat Milap. Thousands of Rambhaktas under the leadership of Shankaracharya Swami Narendranand Saraswati and Swami Ramsharandas led the chanting of Hanuman Chalisa. According to national chief of the campaign Shri Jiveshwar Mishra the functions were held at 800 district centres simultaneously.
After this Shakti Jagran campaign, Hanumat Shakti Yajnas will be conducted at 8,000 blocks from Devotthani Ekadasi, November 17 to December 17. During this campaign the demand to handover Sri Ramjanmabhoomi to Hindus by bringing out a special legislation in the Parliament will be made. The VHP is also going to collect at least 15 crore signatures during this campaign.
