A tearful B S Yeddyurappa, Karnataka Chief Minister, humbly said that he is more happy to believe himself as the servant of six crore people of the State rather than consider himself as a CM. He further added that he does not get sleep at times when he thinks about the responsibilities given by the people to serve the state and interested in all-round development of the state. He was speaking on the occasion of Sadana Samavesha in Bengaluru on June 25. On the occasion of Karnataka Government completed two years in office, Sadana Samavesha was organised to display on going projects and future plan of action by the state government.

Regarding the recently held highly successful initiative by the state government, Global Investor’s Meet ( GIM) CM said “It has received tremendous response. Over 400 companies from India and abroad have signed MoUs for a total investment of over Rs five lakh crore. This is expected to provide employment to about nine lakh people.” He further added that during the past two years, the Government has taken up a series of developmental and welfare schemes to bring about a qualitative change in the life of citizens. He promised the people that power generation will be taken on priority and soon state government may even sell power to neighboring states as MoU signed for starting 1600 mw thermal power plant in Chhattisgarh. He also assured about priority for education, ensuring proper healthcare, enriching rural life, shelter for flood affected, tourism development, setting up of state level Knowledge Commission, assistance to farmers especially organic farming community, welfare of minorities, empowerment of women and establishment of children’s community centers in all 30 districts.

Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Sushma Swaraj inaugurated the Sadana Samavesha and said she is extremely happy with the first ever BJP government in the South under the leadership of BS Yeddyurappa, which is doing a wonderful job towards developing the state. “I am impressed with the Karnataka Government’s popular ‘Bhagyalaksmi Scheme’ , ‘Pension for elders’, ‘Vajapayee Arogya Kavacha’ and incentive of Rs two per litre of milk which will give a boost to dairy farming in rural areas,” she said. She also praised the government for the successful ‘GIM’ which received tremendous response. She mentioned that Karnataka Government is working with a vision of developing all the areas by implementing the projects all over the state rather than concentrating only in the capital and gave an example of proposed airports in all the major districts.

Senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha member, Venkaiah Naidu also opined that Karnataka Government is marching forward and gave a pat on the back of CM by declaring that central BJP is delighted by the works of CM and his team. He asked the people to compare the two-year BJP rule with 50 Years of Congress and JD(S) rule in the State. While he took a strong objection to Congress leaders in Karnataka who meet the Governor often with the intention of toppling the BJP Government, he wanted to know whether it is Raj Bhavan or Gandhi Bhavan and criticised the UPA government for the price rise and anti-farmer issues. “When kisan is weeping, Government is sleeping. Kya wadha kiya, Kya karvadiya? he questioned.

Senior BJP leader and MP Ananth Kumar, Karnataka BJP president and former minister KS Eshwarappa and chief secretary of Karnataka SV Ranganath also spoke on the occasion.
