National Governing Board meeting of BVP

THE meeting of National Governing Board of Bharat Vikas Parishad was organised in Gwalior from February 20-21. A total of 184 members attended the meeting, which was presided over by national president Shri RP Sharma. Shri Sharma announced at the meeting that in the next year, the Parishad would endeavour to significantly increase the participation of women and youth in the organisation.

Inaugurating the meeting, Swami Madhav Prapannacharya defined the true meaning of Parishad’s core values of sampark, sahayog, sanskar, sewa, and samarpan and explained how these are remarkably interwoven. He emphasised the need to involve youth in Parishad’s work and in this context also suggested the need to institute a Yuva Award.

Addressing the delegates at the concluding session Akhil Bharatiya Bauddhik Pramukh of RSS Shri Bhagaiyaji said the aim of the Parishad is all-round development of body, mind and intellect of each citizen. He said sampark leads to disciple in the society as we look for divinity in each person. He said for smooth functioning of the organisation from branch to centre, one must first get ‘selected’ before he is ‘elected’. There were 1.18 lakh registered societies in the country. However, very few of them are functioning in an organised and systematic manner.

The meeting also unanimously elected four national office bearers for the year 2010-12). Shri RP Sharma was elected national president while Shri Ishwar Datt Ojha was elected national working president, Shri Surinder Wadhva as general secretary while Dr Kanhaiyalal Gupta as treasurer.
