VISHWA Samvad Kendra, Jaipur, organised a workshop on January 31 for the new journalists. A total of 30 journalists including some students of journalism participated in the workshop. Addressing the gathering, senior journalist Shri Shyam Acharya advised the journalists to read maximum literature and it should become a habit for them to read daily newspapers thoroughly and this reading does not mean only reading the news but also the layout designing, titles, graphics, cartoons, editorial page, etc. They should also pay serious attention to the photo captions, editing, colour combination, ideological analysis, language, style and presentation of the news. Apart from reading they should also collect the reference material and keep it in a systematic way, he said.

Shri Acharya said knowledge is around us, what we need is attentiveness and ability to smell it. The reporters who are working on political beats should know both the raj and niti. Kshetra Prachar Pramukh Shri Sanjay Kumar and editor of Pathey Kan Shri Manikchand were also present on the occasion. (VSK, Jaipur)
