Senior Sangh Pracharak and Andhra Pradesh organising secretary of Dharma Jagran Vibhag Bhimsen Rao Deshpande passed away on December 25. He was 60. He was serving the society for the last 38 years. He also held the responsibility of associate editor of Jagruthi for some time. His body was kept in Sangh Karyalaya in Barkatpura, Hyderabad, for final homage by the friends, swayamsevaks and people. As per his wishes his eyes were donated. He had been working for securing ban on religious conversion in the state for the last six years. He conducted training for dalit and girijan priests and through rejuvenation of temples in the remotest places propagated Hinduism and thus awakened the people. His specialty was to get deities of Hanuman consecrated in girijan and lambadi hamlets and to bring religious awareness in those villages. He became a Pracharak in 1972. During Emergency, he actively participated in the struggle for re-establishing the democracy and was arrested under MISA. He worked as district Pracharak in Srikakulam, Nellore, Anantapur and old city of Hyderabad and later as Vibhag Pracharak in both Godavari districts and also as Purva Andhra Prant Prachar Pramukh. Afterwards, he took up the task of associate editor of Jagruthi weekly.
