National Council Meeting of Swadeshi Jagran Manch was held in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh, on June 6. The meeting began under the guidance of RSS Sahsarkaryavah Shri Madan Das. SJM national convener Shri Arun Ojha presided over the meeting. State units from all over India reported in brief their account of activities. National Sangathak Shri Kashmiri Lal informed the meeting that there were 165 active units of SJM in different parts of the country. Shri Yoganand Kale delivered a talk on Economic Model based on Indian value system. He said five people lost job every minute in 2008 because of the economic model being followed by the country today. A public meeting was held in the evening, which was addressed by Prof. BM Kumarswamy, national co-convener of SJM, Dr Mahesh Sharma, Shri Kashmiri Lal, Shri Arun Ojha and Shri Murlidhar Rao. The meeting passed three resolutions on Global Capital Crisis, Lessons for India and Expectations from the Government and Swadeshi Agenda for the Seventh WTO Ministerial conference in Geneva.
