Describing the infiltration from Bangladesh as jehadi terrorism, the Governing Council and Board of Trustees of Vishwa Hindu Parishad demanded the Government of Assam not to give citizenship rights to Bangladeshi Muslim infiltrators and do not allow citizenship rights or issue them work permits under any circumstances.
In a resolution passed at the meeting that concluded in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, on January 6, said formidable and durable electric fencing be erected with immediate effect on the Indo-Bangladesh border on the lines of the same as on Indo-Pak border and the matter of infiltration must be taken up with the Government of Bangladesh forthwith, comprehensively addressed and infiltration reversed.
About the terrorist attacks on Mumbai, the meeting demanded a White Paper on jehadi terrorism and put on hold all relations with Pakistan. ?In order to completely end terrorism, blanket ban on madrasas is absolutely necessary. The people of the country do not have faith in the earnestness of the government till now. Only making a law or instituting a National Investigating Agency won'tbe enough. If the Government is serious about a fight against terrorism, it has to ensure speedy retributive justice against demons like Kasab and hang him and Afzal Guru'slong overdue hanging should also be effected forthwith. Only by exposing the Jehadi network in the country, the Government can justify its claims to strong certitude against terrorism,? the resolution added.
In another resolution regarding the killing of Swami Laxmananand Saraswati in Orissa, the VHP warned the missionaries to stop their illegal conversion activities. ?It would have been clear to them from the events in Orissa that the Hindus of Bharat love their religion and won'ttolerate any proselytisation conspiracy,? the resolution added.
About the Malegaon case, the Board of Trustees warned the Government that it should eschew its mean vested interests and desist from its suicidal conspiracies of harming the glorious traditions of the Hindu saints, organisations, society and the Indian defence forces. ?All the persons wrongly hooked in the Malegaon case are innocent and the investigations so far have proved the lack of substance in the allegations. Therefore, VHP demands that the cases framed against such persons should be taken back with immediate effect and they be immediately released. (FOC)
