The Orissa Crime Branch is probing into the matter relating to retired IAS officer and Congress Member of Parliament RK Nayak'sinvolvement in the gruesome murder of Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati on August 23, 2008. The Crime Branch has already made it public that the sole conspirator of this murder case is out of Orissa now. In the meantime Swami Laxmanananda Sraswati Sraddhanjali Samiti has been repeatedly demanding the arrest of RK Nayak for his alleged involvement in Swamiji'smurder. Almost all the local media are publishing investigative stories scanning Nayak'srole in the case and his activities with the missionary proselytizers. Nayak has also declared to use his political hands for suppression of all these attacks over him sitting in New Delhi. In this event, the following few relevant facts are significant to scan Nayak'srole in Swamiji'smurder.

?This attack over me was instigated by Radhakanta Nayak. He is a converted Pana Christian and a leader of the local Christian community in Kandhamal district. He is chief of some Christian missionary NGOs functioning both in Kandhamal and Bhubaneswar. These NGOs are converting Hindus to Christianity by fraud and allurement. Radhakanta Nayak, John Nayak and Sugreeba Singh all are Christians and are trying their best to eliminate me.?

This statement was made by Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati on December 26, 2007, after he was attacked and severely injured by missionary militants at Dasingbadi, the ancestral village of RK Nayak in Kandhamal district on December 24.

Radhakanta Nayak is the managing chief of a well known Christian NGO namely National Institute of Social Works and Science ( NISWAS). On August 23, 2008, he reportedly visited this institute in Bhubaneswar and directed all the students to vacate the hostels in the campus. He also directed the staff to remain vigilant for any untoward incident. He also ordered to close the office of his daily newspaper Janavani and suddenly went away to New Delhi on the same day. However some press reporters saw him at Bhubaneswar air port catching flight for New Delhi restlessly. And in the same night Swami Laxmana-nanda was murdered. After the incident of Swamiji'smurder on August 23 some media persons asked Nayak regarding his sudden disappearance from Kandhamal and Bhubaneswar. In reply he did not say anything regarding on which day he left Bhubaneswar and why he apprehended the occurrence of an untoward incident. It is also another fact that the day on which Nayak left Orissa, on the same day the Arch Bishop Raphael Chennath and John Nayak also left Orissa by flight boarded at Bhubaneswar. Some premier local newspapers of Orissa prominently published stories that after the murder of Swamiji, RK Nayak had been to USA where he was awarded with a huge cash prize by a Christian Foundation for the work of his NGO. After publication of these news items, Nayak has not given any rejoinder yet.

Radhakanta Nayak got into IAS from reservation quota as a Scheduled Caste Hindu candidate and also took retirement as a SC Hindu officer. Few months before his superannuation he was chargesheeted for corruption charges in which he was allegedly involved during his service tenure. The same proceeding is still pending and in the meantime he was elected to Rajya Sabha from Congress Party claiming himself as Dalit Christian. By showing false caste certificate as a Dalit Hindu he managed to got into IAS but in Rajya Sabha matters, he pleased Party'shigh command Sonia Gandhi as a Christian and was elected to Rajya Sabha, playing the Christian card.

Radhakanta Nayak started an NGO namely NISWAS to contrast with another NGO namely BISWAS. The latter one is a non-Christian organisation. In the name of this NGO he collects huge funds for service of poor and needy people but these funds are being allegedly spent for converting Hindu Vanvasis through allurement, lip-service and mis-representation of facts. In 2002 when there was a Christian President in India namely Shri KR Narayanan, Nayak managed to got a Presidential Order for enlisting 18 Scheduled Castes as Kandhas in Orissa through notification.

In Kandhamal the local language of the people is Kui which is generally the language of Kandha Vanvasis. But most of the converted Christians belong to Pana community which comes under SC category and not ST category and in order to hijack all the benefits and privileges meant for Kandhas, Pana Christians applied the local Revenue authorities to record their caste as Kandha tribal in their RORs. But the state government did not accept these applications and passed order on 21.06.2006 vide Revenue Department'sletter no-23087/s-1487. In that order the government held that ?claim to change the caste name from Pana to Kui Kandha appears to have no merit as it is not based on historical and anthropological facts?. Hence Nayak failed in his notorious mission and got a strong slap.??says Shri Ashok Sahoo, former Additional DG of Assam Police and president of Hindu Jagaran Samukhya who is also known as an expert on Kandha Vanvasi matters.
