In or out of power, the CPM has a stranglehold on every sphere of human activity in Kerala. From art, culture, literature, environment to education, goons, criminals and musclemen, the commies have the broad spectrum! With all these in their kitty, can the police be far behind?
With thousands of CPM, DYFI and SFI cadres being recruited into the police force, in every CPM regime, the rough estimate is that more that 50 per cent of the Kerala police is pro-CPM. It is an open reality that Congress or BJP doesn'tget justice from the pro-CPM police of Kerala. The police team up with the CPM to attack RSS men in Kannur and commit atrocities on RSS cadres, their relatives and households.
The CPM-led LDF which won 19 seats in 2004 Lok Sabha polls will be lucky if it retains two or three seats. This is Kerala'sreply to all-round failure in law and order, agriculture, industry, group war in CPM, CPM-CPI battles and incompetence, bravado and false talk of Chief Minister V.S. Atchudanandan and his team.
Last month the CPM State Committee gave instructions to its Local Units to create ?force of musclemen? (goondas) in every polling booth. The aim is obviously to scuttle and torpedo the polling process and capture booths.
Now CPM is organising study classes for policemen in CPM offices of Kerala.
Last week, mediamen spotted 30-40 policemen and women entering the CPM district office in Kottayam district. Many had come in police jeeps and had files with them. When mediamen rushed there, CPM goondas hurled abuses on them and deflated their vehicles tyres. There were attempts even to assault lady scribes.
There are also reports that such meetings are being held in every district of Kerala where thousands of police personnel are participating. Meet of CPM policemen and women are being held in every police station of Kerala.
Faced with the grim reality of total rout in 2009 polls, the CPM is planning to change the tide by using ?police? and ?musclemen? to capture booths and torpedo the electoral process for its victory.
When the police force of the state is to be on a high vigil due to the ?terror export and threat?, the CPM, unmindful of the catastrophe, is playing politics for winning polls.
