Former Union Minister Dr Subramanian Swamy described the infiltration from Bangladeshi as a national issue and said either Bangladesh should hand over one-third of its land to India or take back illegal immigrants. He was addressing a two-day convention of ABVP in Patna on September 21.
Inaugurating the meeting, Dr Swamy said if infiltration of Bangladeshis continues, Hindus would be reduced to a minority in the next 40 years. Infiltration is a way of Islamisation in the world and it is the responsibility of youth, particularly the student community, to give a befitting reply to it. He said the ABVP should wage a relentless battle to check infiltration. If Indians failed to keep their territory intact, the national security would be in great danger and attacks would continue. The Centre should stop indulging in politics over infiltration and take necessary steps to check it, he said.
ABVP national president Dr Ramnaresh Singh said the ABVP is aware of all the important issues whether they are related to national calamity or national security. General secretary Suresh Bhatt said the Centre was not taking any action against infiltrators due to vote bank politics. He said Bangladeshis have polluted the atmosphere of Assam and Bihar. He criticised Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan for patronising the infiltrators and said the ABVP would teach a lesson to all such political leaders.
