This book is the need of the hour when crass materialism and avarice has put our life on an inane wild goose chase. One craves merely for aggrandisement in professional life to notch up more and more. But at the end of the day we miss out the tranquility and sanity too. We?re virtually growing into mutant Frankenstein like malevolent beasts. The co-author Walker makes candid confession??I believe that my struggle with life and work is the same kind of struggle faced by most of us. ?.For most of us, finding a way to balance work and life starts with a gradual erosion of our commitment to one way of life?. This book is written for this kind of struggle.?

Walker refrains from giving a talesman or an abracadabra whiz word. He emphatically puts it, ?There are few, if any, simple solutions to the problem of finding balance, and this book offers no pat recipes for success. Instead this book shares personal stories and thoughts about the cares and the joys of life and work, which I hope will offer you some fresh ways to look at how you go about life and work??..this book relates many of the experiences and reflections that helped me rethink my own way of life.? Walker, one of the authors put up a formidable resistance against debilitating diabetes since his college days. And this excruciating disease steamrolled him towards perfection.

The book rolls down nuggets of quotations from vanguards of society to give credence to author'sviews. Leonardo da Vinci the prodigious polymath stressed on interspacing work with ?a little relaxation? to boost the power of judgment and to strike a harmony among different realms. He cites Michelangelo who believed, ?the work is done by hand, which follows mind and meditation?. In the mundane hustle-bustle we?ve lost to appreciate nature. The Colorado River flowing through the Grand Canyon offers captivating vistas to offer sublime delights to a weary person held in mundane crossfire. There are several soul wrenching questions that we hoodwink and overlook. They are tossed at discerning readers to incite them and thereby streamline their perceptions to finally mend their ways.

Call of the day is to yearn for the mad race to cease and we look forward to a holistic lifestyle, well poised that takes into consideration those conducive factors that brings manifestation to those latent qualities of a man as well as optimally tap our existing prowess. The authors recount their own experiences of a futile life impregnated with mundane frivolities. The book is replete with riveting anecdotes making it affaire de c?ur. The book well serves a handy panacea to some of the all-pervading circumstances debilitating us and enervating problems sapping us out. The book proves a sine qua non to a meaningful pragmatic life.
