Maharashtra unit of Adhivakta Parishad requested the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh to drive out illegal Bangladeshi nationals from the country immediately. The letter addressed to the Prime Minister, has been signed by 50 advocates of Maharashtra. A copy of the letter has also been sent to Lok Sabha speaker Shri Somnath Chatterjee, Union Home Minister Shri Shivraj Patil, Leader of Opposition Shri L.K. Advani, Chief Ministers of Delhi, Assam, Maharashtra, West Bengal and Tripura.
Citing recent bomb blasts in Mumbai, Malegaon, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Varanasi and some other places, the letter said that the problem of Bangladeshi terrorism has reached the new heights. ?It is estimated that the number of such migrants is more than one and half crore. We can presume that one person out of hundred in India is a Bangladeshi. The number of terrorists is alarming and may endanger the national interest,? the letter added.
The letter further said that the problem of Bangladeshi infiltrators is old and is becoming more complicated and troublesome. It has already affected and damaged democratic structure in Assam. They will outnumber local Assamese within a few years and will have full control over the state of Assam. The advocates have also urged the Prime Minister to provide the exact number of such illegal Bangaldeshi nationals.
