A Bangladeshi national Nahir Ali Mulla was found present at the launch pad of the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) at Sriharikotta (Andhra Pradesh). Shri Maloy Krishna Dhar, former director of the Intelligence Bureau (IB), blamed at Chennai that the country'sspace agency is callous on security related matters. ISRO officials, however, tried to play down the incident by blaming Bimal Naskar, the labour contractor from Bengal who hired the Bangladeshi to work in the high security space port. Dhar who led the investigation into the infamous ISRO Spy Case of the 1990s, maintained that authorities in the country'sspace establishment were not taking minimum security measures when deploying men and materials. ?With more than one crore illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in the country, an organisation like ISRO should have consulted the intelligence departments of the concerned states before hiring the workers,? Dhar added, reports the Chennai edition of Deccan Chronicle, dated June 30, 2007.
