“Martyred Capt. Shreyans should have been honoured much earlier”

“The martyred Captain Shreyans Kumar Gandhi, who sacrificed his life while deactivating the landmines in Rajasthan, should have been given the compensation in honour of his services much earlier. But delay in this regard occurred due to red tapism?, said the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan to the delegates of Poorva Sainik Parishad at his residence recently.

Shri Chouhan presented a cheque of Rs 10 lakh to the mother and father of Captain Shreyans Gandhi, Shri V.K. Gandhi and Smt Premlata Devi. He informed that because of the efforts of Shri Hastimal, Akhil Bharatiya Sampark Pramukh, RSS, the administration could be made aware of this. Stating that martyred Shreyans discharged his responsibility with valour and great courage, Shri Chouhan said that his sacrifice is precious and cannot be measured by monetary gains.

Born on April 30, 1976, in Raipur, Capt Shreyans did his school education from Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Bhopal, Reeva, Gwalior and Satna. He did his M.Sc from MBM College, Bhopal. Soon after his recruitment to the army, he was commissioned as an officer.

On this occasion, Shri Hastimal, Shri Anil Madhav Dave, vice president of state BJP, Air Vice-Marshal Aditya Vikram Pethiya, president, Poorva Sainik Parishad, Lt. Col. (Retd) S.C. Dikshit, secretary, District Sainik Welfare Board and other dignitaries paid their tribute to Captain Shreyans Gandhi.  (FOC)
