There was a dense forest and an eagle couple would fly high in the sky over it.

The female eagle realised that soon she would lay an egg, so she constructed a beautiful and spacious nest over the top of the tallest tree in the forest.

Very soon the female eagle laid a white and sizeable egg in the cushy interior of the nest. In course of time the shell of the egg cracked and a lovely eagle child made an entry into the new world.

Initially, the mother eagle fed the child with food through her beak, gradually the child grew further and it had its wings developed. The child started fluttering its wings inside the nest. The child approached the edge of the nest and it peeped outside therefrom. It saw a deep valley below and it got frightened. The child retreated and gripped the mother. This the child went on doing.

The mother eagle noticed the behaviour of the child. She observed that the child was peeping down and moving back. So the mother quickly pushed the child out.

The child twittered and twittered. But it had no alternative then to spread its wings, press the air and float.

The child was not accustomed to any kind of movement in the space. So it cried and cried for help from the mother. But the mother remained unmoved.

The mother too left the nest. It started floating over the child at a height. In fact, the mother was not visible to the child. However, she made a typical sound, which made the child aware of the presence of the mother somewhere over its head.

This way the mother provided cover to the child.

The child made up its mind and tried hard to fly high with the faith that the mother was there to save him.

Soon the confidence of the child was shaken and it started coming down. Then the mother zoomed down and started floating beneath the child over the valley. In this way, the child was reassured that in case of its accidental fall the mother will catch him.

By just feeling the remote presence of the mother, the child gathered new strength, new energy and it spread its wings and moved above. It was successful in flight to some extent. But again it was frightened.

So the game of slipping down and soaring high went on. But the mother never approached the child at a visible distance.

With great efforts the child flew high and it was about to catch the nest. The mother noticed this with her sharp eyes. The mother made a quick move. With the batting of an eyelid, the mother swarmed like an arrow and within no time it destroyed the nest. The twigs, the grass everything was scattered in the air. The child cried with pain. It had no other alternative but to gather all strength and keep floating.

Now the child realised once for all that it did have enough strength packed in its wings and it can fly not only over the top of tall trees but also over the peaks of the mountain. The child got full confidence in flying. What was earlier a matter of fear, now became a game of joy. It started enjoying jaunts in the space. What was earlier a pitiable cry now became a sweet song.

Little friends, God has provided limbs with full strength to us as He had provided developed wings to the eagle child. God wants us to stand on our own legs move with our own feet. At times we may feel depressed, defeated, downtrodden. But remember God is providing a cover both above and below. He may not be visible. But He is always there. His presence is felt in number of ways. He wants us to move ahead and reach the target which we have selected for ourself. And to achieve this we need confidence in ourself and our sincere efforts.
