“A Hindu should be an intellectual warrior?, said Dr. Sumateendra Nadig, a noted poet and literary figure of Karnataka, while speaking at a seminar on ?Hindutva and Nationalism? organised by a forum at R.V. Teachers College, Bangalore, on the occasion of birth centenary of Shri Guruji, the second Sarsanghachalak of RSS.
In his address, he spoke about the great heritage of India and the cultural invasion by other religions. He said the evangelists have prepared a blue-print for systematic destruction of the great tolerant Hindu culture for which millions of dollars are being channeled into India. In midst of such intolerant religions, social harmony is possible only when Hindus become strong.
Shri V. Nagaraj, Kshetriya Bauddhik Pramukh of RSS for Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, stressed on the importance of cultural nationalism and deliberate distortion of the concept of Hindutva by the so-called secularists. He pointed out the initiatives taken by Shri Guruji for social harmony. Two papers were presented by Shri P.N. Benjamin, a columnist, and Dr. S.R. Leela, a retired Professor of Bangalore University, on the subject. Shri Benjamin said: ?Those who decry Hindutva do not know what damage they are wreaking on their country.? Dr. S.R. Leela spoke about the territorial, intellectual and philosophical facets of Hindutva. Shri Rahgu, Editor of Viveka Hamsa, a Kannada magazine, presented a paper on ?Hindutva and Social Harmony?. Dr. Upendra Shenoy, Director of Rashtrothana Research and Communication Centre, presented the valedictory address. Shri Venkataswamy, Vice President of Shri Guruji Birth Centenary Celebration Committee of Karnataka, Dr. M.K. Sridhar, Reader, Canara Bank School of Management Studies, Bangalore University, Dr. Yogananda, Head of Mathematics Centre, J.C.E. College of Engineering, Mysore, were the dignitaries on the dais. More than 200 invitees participated in the seminar.
