Prof. Dilip Phadake, a noted economist and thinker of Akhil Bharatiya Grahak Panchayat, has called upon the consumers to identify their strength and exercise their rights. He said the consumers may appear helpless today but they have lot of power. Shri Phadake was speaking at a function in New Delhi organised to release a Hindi book, Grahak Sangthan Kyon? (Why Organisation for Consumers?). The function was presided over by Shri Gyanchand Chopra, chief of DAV schools management. Dr H.C. Gupta, president of Federation of Residents Welfare Associations, Ashok Vihar, was the chief guest. Shri Phadake further said the objective of Grahak Panchayat is not only to fight for the rights of consumers but also to develop the harmony between consumers, manufacturers, labourers, farmers and traders. He said the consumers couldn'tbe benefited until there is a harmonious atmosphere among all these sections. Shri Gyanchand Chopra spoke about the growing influence of multinational companies in the country.
