A birthday celebration with a difference
FOC

Over 11,000 patients suffering from killer dengue fever are battling with life in different hospitals of Delhi. Since a dengue patient needs immediate and repeated blood transfusion, the family members of the patients are facing shortage of healthy blood donors. There are also families that cannot buy blood from the private blood banks, as it is very costly. Keeping in view the plight of the dengue patients and also to encourage people for eye donation, the BJP workers of Delhi in association with different social and religious organisations organised over a dozen blood and eye donation camps in Delhi on December 1 to celebrate 64th birthday of the Leader of Opposition, Prof. Jagdish Mukhi. Doctors from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Deendayal Upadhayaya Hospital, Rotary Club, Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital and Dr B.R. Ambedkar Hospital collected over 400 units of blood from different camps. Doctors from Guru Nanak Eye Centre received the oath papers for eye donation from more than 200 persons.
