Sanskar Bharati is strengthening social harmony ?Mukesh Khanna

Noted film personality Shri Mukesh Khanna, popularly known as Bhisma of Mahabharat TV serial, said the Sanskar Bharati had been rendering valuable services to strengthen social harmony and feeling of nationalism by organising natyotsava (play festival). Plays of different languages and regions are staged at one place during such festival. Shri Khanna was speaking at a function organised by Jharkhand unit of Sanskar Bharati in Ranchi on November 11. He said the plays were very close to people'sheart and he himself started acting in plays.

Inaugurating the three-day event, state BJP president Shri Yadunath Pandey, said the plays, songs and music had been infusing good samskars into people for generations. Elaborating on the event, Shri Vimal Lath, Akhil Bharatiya Natya Pramukh of Sanskar Bharati, said it was the fourth all India play event. He said the plays touched the people'shearts the most and this was the reason the plays played a key role in giving constructive direction to any political or social movement. Shri Bankelal Guar, all India organising secretary of Sanskar Bharati and a noted theater personality of Kolkata, also spoke at the inaugural ceremony.

At the first day of the three-day event, the artists from West Bengal staged a historical play?Teeese June?based on the life of Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee. The artists from Orissa staged a play-Kunvari?which received wide appreciation from the audience. On the second day, the artists took out a procession in the city and staged various plays. Apart from the procession, an interaction of local children was organised with Shri Mukesh Khanna at the Siddo-Kanu garden where Shri Khanna answered the queries of the children. In the evening, three plays?Shikasta by Mangesh and Mangla Bakshi, Kasturi Pehachano Vatsa by Jayanandan and Anita Singh, and Dhoorkheli ke Sapane by Ramraj Singh?were staged. On the third day of the event a symposium was held. The symposium was inaugurated by Dr Shailendranath Shrivastava, president, Sanskar Bharati.(FOC)
