Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya was a simple man of simple habits. Yet he stood out half-a-century ahead of his times by virtue of a newer concept of thought?Integral Humanism. His outright rejection of present day ideological dogma paved the way to a Value Added Thought (VAT) which would erase the compulsions of ideology from the system itself. The thinker that Deendayal Upadhyaya was, gave rise to a new philosophy which would re-emerge in the twenty-first century when all ideological alternatives would have been exhausted and the world would be looking forward to a new global order.
His contemporary, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru strongly propounded the concept of a ?World Government? with great vigour. For those who would like to give it a thought, a World Government could not be possible without an Integrated Human Race?a concept dearest to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya'sheart. Thus both complimented each other. Here we may take it for granted that both Pandits?Deendayalji and Nehruji thought ahead of their times. The long and short of it is that great men think similarly.
Pandit Nehru had the highest regard for Upadhyayaji?as much as he lavished praise on Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee, Nehru had an intuition that the future would be a vacuum which had the potential to break the stranglehold of monotonous political thought. In that case the Congress and the Jana Sangh would not be far away from their ideological commitments. The Socialists (Praja Socialist Party) was in disarray and started to gravitate towards the Congress to give a go-by to its individual entity. Pt. Nehru may have been critical of the Jana Sangh on account of his socialistic agenda. But the use of the word ?secular? to pin down the Jana Sangh was few and far between. Being a true democrat, he spoke highly of individual Jana Sangh leaders and in his mind'seye appreciated the good work and organisational capability of the RSS.

The invitation to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh to participate in the January 26, 1963 march-past was a first step in that direction.
The Chinese fiasco of 1962 made him highly suspicious of the communists of both brands and he hesitated to seek their support in matters of national and international interest. He fully endorsed that in India religion overshadowed ideology and India would never become a breeding ground for the communist culture. It was a common fact that people working in labour communist unions at night would cast their vote for the Jana Sangh at dawn.
The Congress, a party that has ruled the nation for over 40 years is in possession of a Smart Card. They are adept at using the communists at their sole discretion to add up to whatever number the game is on. The day they are convinced that the communists are trying to ride rough shod on them, the communists of all hues shall be dropped like hot potatoes. True communist leaders like Sitaram Yachury and A.B. Bardhan find themselves to be misfit with the Congress. However hard they are trying to prove to their cadres that they are calling the shots in the UPA, they honestly lack the credibility. The Congress is convinced that as of earlier, they do not have many communist infiltrators in its ranks. Smt Sonia Gandhi would surely try to keep them at bay.
