VHP Margdarshak Mandal meets in Amritsar
Saints to fight for Hindu cause
By Pramod Kumar

Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has now decided to work under the leadership of saints of the country. The decision was taken at the Kendriya Margdarshak Mandal meeting held in Amritsar on June 28 and 29. Tulsi Peethadhishwar Jagadguru Ramanandacharya will now lead the Ramjanmabhoomi movement and Swami Satyamitrananda will head the dharma prachar work. Other prominent saints, who will lead other wings, are Swami Avadheshananda (kathakar and harisatsangh), Swami Akhileshwarananda (math-mandir), Swami Vishveshwarananda and Swami Keshavdas (cow protection), Swami Raghavacharya (Bajarang Dal), Acharya Dharmendra (Sanskrit), Swami Hare Ramacharya and Swami Vivekanand (Veda training), Acharya Kishore Vyas (Ganga raksha), Shri Gopal Swami (social harmony), Mahamandaleshwar Parmanand and Shri Atul Krishan Bhardwarj (coordination), Swami Krishnacharya (satsang), Swami Umashankar Dev (movement), Swami Hansdas (contact drive), Sadhvi Maitreya and Sadhvi Varunayati ( women kathakar) and Sadhvi Shiva Saraswati (Durgavahini).

The Margdarshak Mandal also adopted three resolutions. In one resolution, the VHP supported the economic boycott of Bangladeshi infiltrators by the nationalist people of Assam and called upon the countrymen for total boycott of infiltrators. ?The VHP calls upon the countrymen to give no food, no work and no shelter to Bangladeshi infiltrators as is being done by the people of Assam,? the resolution said.

About the move on part of the Jammu & Kashmir government to change the names of Shankaracharya and Hari Parvat into Sulaiman Taing and Sikandar Butshikan respectively, the VHP urged the Central Government to take timely action. ?Both these pilgrimage centres symbolise unity and integrity of the country. Changing their names after Islamic invaders is tampering with the history of the country. ?Calling Anantnag Islamabad is like materialising the Topak plan of former Pakistani General Zia-ul-Haq. PDP seems to be implementing his plan and the silent support of the Congress is another attempt to deceive the country.? The VHP and saints also warned the Andhra Pradesh and Central Government against providing reservation to Muslims on religious basis.

The team of VHP was also reconstituted in Amritsar. Now Shri Ashok Singhal is the new president. For the first time the VHP has constituted an advisory committee. RSS Sarkaryavah Shri Mohan Bhagwat was also present at the meeting.
