Yasin Malik, a member of the Hurriyat team that went to Pakistan, was at his painful best trying to whitewash the Pakistani Information and Broadcasting Minister, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed. Malik'spraise of Rashid for running terrorist camps for the Kashmiris had caused the latter some trouble. Malik was now twisting his statement and saying that Rashid had hosted 3,500 Kashmiri gun-runners in his farmhouse when they were caught in snow a few years ago, while trying to enter Kashmir through PoK. If one-time hosting of 3,500 men could create so much gratitude in Malik, one wonders what happened to all the hospitality and lavishes that the Indian government has been showering on these so-called leaders all these years! The Hurriyat and other separatist leaders have lived in our Kashmir all the while, without much known sources of income, on whose doles, other than the Indian tax payer, one would like to know. Should Malik not utter a few words of gratitude to us too?
