VHP demands carbon dating of Taj Mahal

Reacting to the recent demands by certain people, including a minister in Uttar Pradesh government, to hand over the Taj Mahal to Wakf Board as it is an Islamic monument, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has demanded carbon dating of the historic building. Supporting the arguments and programmes announced by former Uttar Pradesh BJP president, Shri Vinay Katiyar, the VHP said that if it was proved that the Taj Mahal was built before the rule of Shahjahan, it should be handed over to Hindus. Shri Ashok Singhal, working president of VHP, said, ?Now it should be clear who built the Taj and to whom it really belongs. The VHP supports the action plan formulated by Shri Vinay Katiyar who has said that the Taj Mahal was built by a Hindu king and its name was Tejomaya.?
