Vidya Bharati’s five-day Chintan Baithak in Kerala
Take pride in nation’s creativity

“The fatalistic attitude created among Indians due to the modern education system does not allow them to believe that any kind of new creation is possible in our country. They feel that whatever new is being invented, it is being done only in the West and the Indians can do nothing better but to follow the West. The fact is that India had discovered certain things centuries back that are being realised by the West now. We need to take pride in the nation’s creativity and teach it to our new generation. It is wrong to say that there is darkness everywhere and nothing can be done. The process of evolving a new education model with Indian roots has been initiated by the Vidya Bharati,” said Shri Suresh Soni, Sah-Sarkaryavah of RSS. He was speaking at the Chintan Baithak organised by Vidya Bharati, which concluded at Palakkad in Kerala on January 12. Prominent among those who attended the meeting included Dr P.K. Madhvan, Vidya Bharati president, Dr Devendra Pratap Singh, vice president, Shri Dinanath Batra, vice president, Brahmdev Sharma ‘Bhaiji’, organising secretary and Shri Shantanu Raghunath Shende, national secretary.
Shri Soni quoted two anecdotes related to Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the President of India, in which he had explained the reasons responsible for preventing India from becoming a super power of the world. In his book, India-2020: An Outline of Reconstruction, Dr Kalam had said that people of the country had stopped believing in themselves and had started following the Western inventions and Western views blindly. The speech of Shri Soni was translated into Malyalam by Shri Krishan Gopalan, Kerala Prant Pracharak.
