Dr Rajrishi Bhattacharya, Prant Sampark Pramukh of Uttar Assam, passed away in Guwahati on December 16. He was suffering from cancer since the last few months. He is survived by his wife Smt. Shukla Bhattacharya, two daughters, Dr Dipanvita and Nivedita who too are active workers of the Rashtra Sevika Samiti. Son of the first Sanghchalak of Shillong and freedom fighter Rajkumar Bhattacharya, Dr Rajrishi Bhattacharya was a Sangh Swayamsevak since childhood. He was director at the pre-examination training centre in Guwahati University. Earlier he was registrar in Assam University at Silchar. He held the responsibility of Mahanagar Karyavah of Guwahati and Vibhag Karyavah before becoming the Prant Sampark Pramukh in 1996.
