Bharatiya Bal Sahitya Shodh Sansthan inaugurated in Indore

The largest-selling mon-thly magazine for children, Devputra, which has been celebrating its silver jubilee this year, has established the country´s first research institute on children´s literature in Indore. The institute, known as Bharatiya Bal Sahitya Shodh Sansthan, has been recognised by the Devi Ahilya University of Indore. The institute, which will provide complete literature for children at one place, was formally inaugurated by Acharya Vishnukant Shastri, a renowned Hindi scholar and Governor of Uttar Pradesh, at a function held in Indore on June 20.

Elaborating on the facilities to be available at the institute, Krishan Kumar Asthana, director of the institute and editor, Devputra, said that the copies of all children´s magazines being published from different parts of the country would be available at the institute for the research students. He further said that the research centre would become an important centre to connect the children´s literature with the Indian culture.

Speaking on the occasion, Acharya Vishnukant Shastri said that it was not that one got samskars only at the age of childhood; it could be inculcated at any stage of life. He further said that we should learn to give something to the society and should not expect anything in return. Acharya Rammoorti Tripathi, member, Hindi Sahitya Sammelan, Prayag, said that Devputra was providing healthy reading material to children. Kailash Vijayvargiya, minister in the Madhya Pradesh government also spoke on the occasion.

Dr Asharfilal Sharma, Vice-Chancellor of Devi Ahilya University, termed the recognition to Bharatiya Bal Sahitya Shodh Sansthan by his university as an honour. Former Union Minister, Sumitra Mahajan was also present on the occasion. The function was also organised as amritanadan samaroh of Acharya Vishnukant Shastri.
