A statue of Maharana Pratap, carved by the artisans of Madhav Moorti Bhandar, Jaipur, was insta-lled at Mcpherson Park of Kolkata at a function held on May 30. The function was organ-ised by the Rajas-than Parishad, Kolkata. The Kol-kata Municipal Corporation has also decided to rename the Mcpherson Park after Maharana Pratap. The picture shows Uttar Pradesh Governor, Achrya Vishnukant Shastri, unveiling the statue while Trinamul Congress chief and MP, Mamta Banerjee, Mayor of Kolkata, Subrata Mukherji, Deputy Mayor, Meena Purohit, Satyanarayan Bajaj, MLA, and other dignitaries including Shardul Singh Jain, Arun Mallawat and Jugal Kishore Jaithalia look on.
