From Haryana and Uttar Pradesh to Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand and beyond, multiple incidents reported during the week of 14 June 2026 to 20 June 2026 have once again brought national attention to allegations involving identity concealment, religious conversion, coercive relationships, blackmail, sexual exploitation, and marriage-related disputes. The reported cases, emerging from diverse regions of the country, have triggered police investigations, arrests, public protests, and legal proceedings.

Several of the incidents involve allegations that Hindu women or minor girls were approached through social media platforms, introduced to individuals allegedly using false identities, and subsequently drawn into relationships under disputed circumstances. In a number of cases, complainants and family members have alleged pressure for religious conversion, nikah, threats, blackmail, financial exploitation, or sexual abuse. Law enforcement agencies in the respective states have registered cases and initiated investigations based on the complaints received.

The developments have also highlighted the increasing role of digital platforms in facilitating interactions that later become the subject of criminal allegations. Complaints involving Instagram, Facebook, and other social media channels feature prominently among the cases reported during the week. Authorities have responded through arrests, FIR registrations, medical examinations, recovery operations, and the invocation of relevant provisions under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), state Freedom of Religion laws, POCSO provisions, and other applicable statutes.

These incidents have generated public discussion regarding issues of identity concealment, interfaith relationships, conversion-related allegations, online grooming, blackmail, and the protection of women and minors. In several locations, community organisations and local groups have also demanded strict action and expedited investigations.

The specific incident mentioned is that, on 19 June 2026 in Sonipat, Haryana, a Hindu family alleged in a complaint to the police that a Muslim man named Salman concealed his identity by introducing himself as Amit, befriended a Hindu woman, facilitated her religious conversion, and subsequently married her through nikah.
The broader report section then presents a general narrative that, according to the report’s framing, there have been recurring incidents in which Muslim men allegedly target Hindu women, persuade them to leave their homes, sexually exploit them, circulate private photos or videos, and in some cases push them toward drug abuse or prostitution. It states that social media and the use of Hindu identities are allegedly employed as methods to gain the trust of Hindu women.

The detailed 12 Incidents: Weekly Report_Love jihad and Conversion (14 June 2026 to 20 June 2026), are given below.

The incident triggered public outrage after Hindu organisation officials reached the Kotwali police station late on the night of 15 June 2026 and demanded immediate action.

Sahil Khan created an Instagram account under the name “Sahil Lala” and introduced himself as Hindu to gain the minor girl’s trust and establish friendship. He later took the teenage girl to a temple, where he staged a wedding ceremony according to Hindu customs, tied a mangalsutra around her neck and filled her mang with sacred turmeric powder. When the girl’s family discovered his actual Muslim identity and objected, Sahil Khan pressured her to convert religion. Upon her resistance, he began blackmailing her and issued threats to kill her.

On 15 June 2026 late night, Hindu organisation officials arrived at Kotwali police station and created a disturbance, demanding strict action against the accused. The victim’s complaint prompted police to register a case on 14 June 2026 at the Dindayal Nagar police station under the Deen Dayal Nagar area.

According to the allegation, in January 2023, when the victim was 16 years old, Samir invited her to his home on the pretext of being her brother’s friend and raped her at the point of a knife. When she became pregnant the first time, he forcibly gave her abortion medicines. When she became pregnant again, he took her to an unknown place, forcibly changed her religion to Islam and conducted a Nikah. After the child was born, Samir began beating the victim regularly.

On 8 June 2026, after another beating, the victim returned to her parental home. Following her return, Samir threw stones at her house. On 10 June, he attempted to take the child away at Court Chauraha and threatened to kill the victim’s brother. A case involving an 18-year-old woman who went missing from Banbasa in Uttarakhand’s Champawat district came to light after her father, Deepak Kumar, lodged a missing person complaint at Banbasa Police Station on 14 June 2026. During the investigation, it emerged that the woman had gone with a Muslim Youth identified as Armaan Mansoori.

On the night of 13 June 2026, the woman was admitted to the Sub-District Hospital in Tanakpur after experiencing severe abdominal pain. According to the attending doctors, she was approximately six months pregnant, and the foetus had died in the womb following the consumption of improper medication.

The case emerged amid heightened local attention following another matter registered at Banbasa Police Station on 12 June 2026. 12.  Shakil Khan Accused of Taking Married Hindu Woman Away; Police Launch Search Operation in Fatehpur

A case has been registered in Uttar Pradesh’s Fatehpur district after Shakil Khan was accused of luring a married Hindu woman and taking her away from the Asothar police station area.

Superintendent of Police Abhimanyu Mangalik stated that a case had been registered on the basis of the complaint submitted by the family.

Police have constituted teams to trace the woman and arrest the accused. Further investigation into the matter is underway.

The incidents reported during the week of 14 June 2026 to 20 June 2026 collectively underscore the continuing emergence of cases involving allegations of identity concealment, religious conversion, online interaction, coercion, blackmail, sexual exploitation, and disputed marriages across multiple states. While each case remains subject to investigation and legal scrutiny, the recurrence of similar allegations across geographically diverse regions has drawn significant public attention.

A notable pattern visible in several complaints is the alleged use of social media platforms and digital communication channels to establish contact and build relationships. Investigating agencies have increasingly been required to examine electronic records, digital communications, photographs, videos, and online activity as part of their inquiries. These developments reflect the growing intersection between technology, personal relationships, and criminal investigations.

The reported cases also highlight the importance of timely police intervention, thorough investigations, legal due process, and institutional mechanisms designed to protect women and minors. Arrests, FIR registrations, medical examinations, recovery operations, and judicial procedures initiated in several of these matters demonstrate the role of law enforcement agencies in addressing serious allegations and determining the facts through established legal processes.

As investigations continue in many of the cases documented during the week, the developments remain significant from both a law enforcement and societal perspective. The incidents collectively serve as an important indicator of emerging challenges relating to online interactions, allegations of religious conversion, identity-related deception, and crimes against women, all of which continue to attract widespread public attention and scrutiny across the country.
