A Virat Hindu Sammelan was organised by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) at a marriage hall in Chitauni, Ballia, with a strong emphasis on Hindu unity and social harmony. The event brought together community leaders, social workers, students, and citizens to reflect on cultural values and collective responsibility.
The programme commenced with floral tributes to a portrait of Bharat Mata and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. The Sammelan was addressed by the chief speaker, Gopal Arya, Akhil Bharatiya Paryavaran Sanyojak of RSS. Mahamandaleshwar Kaushalendra Giri Ji Maharaj, Colonel KN Singh presiding the event, and former village head and social worker Meera Singh were also present on the dais. Students presented Ganesh Vandana, Jai Bhavani, and theme-based performances on social media, evoking patriotic sentiments while drawing attention to social concerns.
In his address, Gopal Arya stated that the world today looks towards Bharat with hope, as global welfare is possible through Bharat’s philosophical outlook. He expressed faith in the ideal of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. He noted with concern that even after 75 years of independence, questions continue to be raised about Shri Ram and the Ram Setu. He also expressed worry that the younger generation is increasingly unfamiliar with the Vedas and with national heroes such as Chandrashekhar Azad and Bhagat Singh.
Arya further stated that global well-being can be achieved through the philosophy of Hindutva. He remarked that a Hindu who offers the first bread to the cow cannot harbour ill will towards others. Highlighting the growth of the RSS, he said that what began in Nagpur has today expanded to more than one lakh branches across Bharat. He added that the organisation is active in 82 countries and operates through 36 affiliated organisations working in various fields. He reiterated that the Sangh seeks to make Bharat prosperous once again and clarified that it is not opposed to any community, but stands against anti-national forces, emphasising that every individual within the organisation is treated with respect. He also underlined the active participation of women, rejecting the notion that women have no role in the Sangh.
Addressing the gathering, Mahamandaleshwar Kaushalendra Giri Ji Maharaj stressed that the decline of Hindu society can be prevented only by eliminating untouchability and caste-based discrimination.
