Raipur: As security forces strengthened its presence in Bastar, efforts are being made to provide basic facilities to the residents of the far-fledged regions earlier deprived of these facilities due to Maoist’s domination.
Recently, the state’s Health Department organised dedicated health camps in dozens of villages across Narayanpur, Bjapur and Sukma the three most Maoist-affected districts of the state’s Bastar division.
According to the government, the department successfully organised these camps in far-fledged remote regions by overcoming security challenges and difficult geographical conditions, providing much required medical care to the residents.
Doctors with specialisation from Raipur Medical College, Kanker Medical College and Dimrapal Medical College along with medical students participated actively in the campaign under which the health team visited remote villages, providing health-checkups, treatment and awareness services.
The health camps were organised in highly sensitive villages such as Irkbhatti, Kasturmeta Bedamkoti and Kandulpar in Narayanpur, Duled and Lakhapal in Sukma district and Kondapalli, Mutvendi, Putkel and Gunjeparti in Bijapur district.
As per the details, over 1300 villagers received medical examinations in these health camps. Following the checkup, the residents were also provided free medicines.
The camps were organised as per the directives of the state government under which patients were examined and referred to higher institutions as required. The team detected 83 malaria-positive cases and treated them immediately. Additionally, TB tests, eye examinations, sickle cell and anemia screenings were also conducted during the campaign, informed an official according to a statement issued.
Over 100 plus villagers were also issued new Ayushman Cards during the health camp.
Praising the initiative, state’s deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma said that the successful organisation of these camps have been made possible due to the support of security forces and determination of health team.
Sharma who also oversee the state’s Home Department added that the campaign reflects the government and administration’s firm commitment to deliver quality health services in the remotest corners of Bastar.
Bastar moving towards peace – Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai
Meanwhile lauding the security forces and the administration for successfully implementing government’s welfare policies, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that “The land of Bastar is now once again moving steadily towards peace, stability and development”.
The CM added that due to continuous action by security forces, administrative coordination, and the government’s rehabilitation-focused policies, decisive success is being achieved against Maoist’s violence in Chhattisgarh.
The CM underscored that more than 487 Naxalites have been neutralised in the state with another 1849 arrested. He said that more than 2250 Naxals have surrender before officials in the state.
The CM noted that these figures are testimony of a changing Bastar and growing trust in the government’s policies.
The steadily increasing number of surrenders has marked the beginning of a new dawn in Bastar where an atmosphere of peace, love, brotherhood and lasting prosperity is now being created, said the CM.
The CM added that the coordinated efforts of the police, security forces and administration have strengthened the security apparatus in Bastar. The CM expressed confidence that the ongoing positive transformation in the region will build a new identity of lasting peace and development.
