Kashmir & Kashmiris are once again in the news for wrong reasons

Decades ago, justification for terrorism would be advanced in the media by the so-called intellectuals, writers, media-men and women and the human rights activists. They would do it without any sort of shame or inhibitions. But that is not the situation today. Things have drastically changed and there is hardly any kind of an ecosystem that will come out with any kind of justification of the terror acts or the crimes against humanity

The incident of deadly car explosion in Red Fort, Old Delhi area on the last Monday, 10th November 2025, shook the capital of the nation when several people were killed and injured in one of the busiest markets in NCR Delhi. It was after a gap of more than a decade that this kind of a terror attack was witnessed in Delhi. The initial conclusions refer to various links that naturally disturb the minds of the common citizenry of the nation. The number of the innocent lives killed in this terror blast has gone up to 14 while the number of the injured has reached 30.

Prior to this incident of the fatal nature, a lot of arrests and detentions were made throughout the nation on the basis of the intelligence inputs advanced by the concerned agencies. These inputs are of highly sensitive nature and give a notion that the terror network in the country is continuously working to disturb peace in the otherwise peaceful atmosphere over the last one decade. Unfortunately, all these inputs suggest the Kashmir link and the involvement of the highly qualified people of a particular community in these forbidden net-workings.

The most disturbing fact remains about the deep physical and mental involvement of the doctors, paramedical staff from the medical and scientific institutions of Jammu and Kashmir in these terror activities. The arrests and detentions made by the police, connected paramilitary forces and the other investigative agencies of the people (both men and women) belonging to the Kashmir valley in this connection have initiated a curious debate about the resurgence of terror networking throughout the nation and deep involvement of the people belonging to the Kashmir valley at various levels. Now terrorism has been duly recognised as religion specific, gender unspecific and place neutral. The existence of an active link with Pakistan based terror and anti-India networks is also not ruled out.

In the post Article 370 abrogation scenario, this is considered as a major upheaval on the internal security front. Besides the arrests and detentions of several people in this connection over the last two decades in particular, a number of people from the medical fraternity connected with the terror networks of Kashmir and especially the doctors working in a number of institutions in NCR Delhi have gone absconding. The J&K government over the past several years dismissed or suspended a number of doctors and other employees for their direct and indirect links with the secessionist and terror networks. Some of the dismissed and suspended employees and doctors joined Faridabad based university as professionals. In this connection, the name of Al Falah University in Faridabad (NCR) has come up that has earned a very bad name due to all these developments.

The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) was forced to issue a show-cause notice to Al-Falah University in Faridabad for displaying a false accreditation on its website. It further stated that the University is neither accredited nor validated for Cycle One for Assessment and Accreditation. The NAAC’s action to withdraw its accreditation to the University consequent upon the dubious linkages of the institution with the terror activities and the networking is a very serious matter that might lead to any sort of unpalatable action against the institution. It will surely also bring to an end the educational career of hundreds of students of the University. Its name as a credible institution has already been tarnished at the national level having an impact also on the future of such institutions.

Only some days before the terror incident in Delhi, a number of suspected  terror links were unearthed in different parts of the country. Arrests were made in Telangana, Gujarat, UP, J&K and Delhi NCR in this connection. Doctors in Gujarat were apprehended on the charges of making an attempt to produce chemical weapons that could kill people en masse. Investigative agencies after the Delhi explosions have identified scores of ‘white-collar’ employees directly who are indirectly connected with the planning and execution of the blasts at various centres throughout the country. These include more than 22 doctors, engineers, scientists and other professionals working as the para-medical staff. Most of them belong to the Kashmir valley and have their established links with the terror outfit Jashe-e-Mohammad.

Investigations revealed that there was/is a strong bonding between various terror outfits working in Kashmir with the madrassas functioning within and outside the valley and the banned Jamaat-e-Islami; and the indoctrination is going on among the young minds at a very alarming speed. The agencies involved in the investigations related to the Delhi blast confirmed that the people under scanner were planning multiple blasts with materials already procured, reconnaissance completed and devices ready.

All of them were awaiting final approval from their Pakistan handlers but got cracked before the event. It is believed that the module was a big one and widespread that needed thorough investigation, arrests and detainment of various conduits, channels and links. The families of the people involved are also being interrogated in this connection to get to the bottom of the conspiracy and espionage activity. The main aim of the investigation is now to dismantle the whole terror module spread over several states and the capital of India. Besides this, a debate has been unleashed in the concerned quarters about the connection of Kashmir and Kashmiris in the terror related activities throughout the country and particularly in the Delhi NCR.

There was a time some decades ago when any such terror activity by the Kashmir based terrorists would be justified by their ecosystem in the socio-political arena and the print & electronic media at different places in the country. Justification for terrorism would be advanced in the media by the so-called intellectuals, writers, media-men and women and the human rights activists. They would do it without any sort of shame or inhibitions. But that is not the situation today. Things have drastically changed and there is hardly any kind of an ecosystem that will come out with any kind of justification of the terror acts or the crimes against humanity.

True to their political colours, the Kashmir based parties tried to put absurd arguments before the public after these unfortunate developments asking for the ‘reasons behind the involvement of youth in the terror activities’. Unmindful of the devastation their acts have brought or could bring in future, PDP and National Conference leaders raised questions about the arrests, detentions and other investigations by the concerned agencies, police and intelligence bodies. It is an established fact that the madrassas have become the breeding grounds for the terror outfits everywhere. They have now taken their nefarious and unlawful activities to various medical institutions, colleges and universities involving the educated youth to become planners, executers and even suicide bombers and cause death and destruction.

In order to put things right, the government of India through its Information & Broadcasting Ministry has issued an Advisory-order on November 18, 2025 asking the media outlets to exercise caution and keep themselves away from any sort of justification of the unlawful activities of any nature in this connection. The people connected with the mainstream media and also the social media are supposed to go through the contents of this Media-Advisory in their own interest. The Advisory follows:

“Subject: Advisory to all private satellite TV channels regarding telecast of sensitive content related to recent incidents.

  1. It has come to the notice of this Ministry that some news channels have been broadcasting content related to alleged persons involved in Red Fort blasts justifying their acts of violence, as well as information! videos of how to make explosive material. Such broadcasts may inadvertently encourage or incite violence, disrupt public order and pose risks to national security.
  2. All TV channels are advised to exercise the highest level of discretion and sensitivity while reporting on such matters. Broadcasters must ensure strict compliance with the Programme and Advertising Code under the Cable Television Net-works (Regulation) Act, 1995. Such broadcasts may violate the Cable Television Network Rules, specifically Rules 6(1)(d), 6(1)(e) and 6(l)(h), which state that no programme should: (d) contain anything obscene, defamatory, deliberately false or suggestive innuendo (e) be likely to encourage or incite violence, contain anything against the maintenance of law and order or promote anti-national attitudes; (h) contain anything that affects the integrity of the Nation.
  3. All TV channels are further advised to avoid telecasting visuals that could aid, abet or promote unlawful activities.
  4. This advisory is issued with the approval of the competent authority in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting”.

This is a welcome action of the government of India keeping in view that enough damage has already been caused due to the direct and indirect justification of the terror activities over the last four decades. The justification would go beyond the argument that the people who were displaced due to terrorism ‘deserved’ to be ‘kicked out’ and the world remained silent due to the absurdity of the justification of terror. It is time to learn lessons from the past mistakes. India that is Bharat has changed and it has changed for good. Justification, support or any type of help will boomerang and label their progenitors as an essential part of terrorists and terrorism.
