NEW DELHI: On October 1, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released a special Rs 100 coin to commemorate the centenary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), which has now become a center of attraction for Sangh swayamsevaks.
Notably, apart from the Sangh’s swayamsevaks, the general public is also inquiring and searching for it. This coin features the image of Bharat Mata along with Sangh swayamsevaks performing Dhwaj Pranam.
Following its release, many people began asking questions on social media about how to obtain it, and several are visiting banks to inquire. However, this is a special coin issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and, therefore, will not be available at common banks.
Although this special coin marking 100 years of the RSS has a face value of Rs 100, acquiring it may require a higher price. The coin is made of pure silver. Many swayamsevaks have shared on social media that this is not just a coin but a symbol of the Sangh’s selfless contributions. The coin also bears the Sangh’s guiding slogan, “राष्ट्राय स्वाहा, इदं राष्ट्राय, इदं न मम”.
For the first time in the history of independent India, the image of Bharat Mata has been depicted on Indian currency. This special Rs 100 coin has been minted at the Kolkata Mint.
How to obtain this coin:
The sale of special coins issued by the Reserve Bank of India is conducted through a separate system. Therefore, this Rs 100-coin commemorating 100 years of the RSS will not be available at regular banks. To obtain it, one must register on the SPMCIL website. This process will begin once the coin is made available for sale online, and the price of each coin will also be displayed there. This coin is not intended for general circulation. Once the coin is available for purchase, payment must be made, after which it will be delivered to your address.
