Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate a mega textile park in Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar district on September 17, officials announced on September 15. The event will coincide with PM Modi’s 75th birthday and marks his second visit to the state on this occasion.

The textile park is being developed at Bhensola village in Badnawar tehsil under the PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) scheme. This ambitious initiative aims to establish large-scale textile hubs with state-of-the-art infrastructure to enhance manufacturing capacity, boost exports, and generate employment.

Born on September 17, 1950, in Mehsana, Gujarat, Prime Minister Modi’s birthday is observed as a celebratory occasion by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Each year, the party organises ‘Seva Parv’, a fortnight-long campaign dedicated to public service, community welfare, and national development. The initiative includes activities such as blood donation camps, Swachhata Abhiyaans (cleanliness drives) in hospitals, schools, and public spaces, along with outreach programs that provide essential items and healthcare services to underprivileged communities.

In 2024, the Prime Minister visited Bhubaneswar, Odisha, where he launched a women-focused scheme and interacted with beneficiaries of the PM Awas Yojana.

In 2023, Prime Minister Modi launched the PM Vishwakarma Yojana to empower traditional artisans and craftsmen through skill development initiatives. He also inaugurated the India International Convention and Expo Centre (IICC) and flagged off the extension of the Delhi Airport Express Line. In his parliamentary constituency, local celebrations included a 73-kg laddoo cake and various religious observances.

On his birthday in 2022, PM Modi led a landmark environmental effort by releasing cheetahs from Namibia into Madhya Pradesh’s Kuno National Park, marking the launch of the Cheetah Reintroduction Project, the world’s first intercontinental translocation of large carnivores.

In 2021, Prime Minister Modi oversaw a major nationwide Covid-19 vaccination drive, emphasising public health and safety amid the ongoing pandemic. During the height of the pandemic in 2020, birthday celebrations were low-key, focusing on ‘Seva Saptah’ activities. These included distributing food rations, organising blood donation drives, and conducting community support camps to aid those affected by the crisis.

In 2019, PM Modi celebrated his birthday in Kevadiya, Gujarat, by participating in the ‘Namami Narmada’ festival, which commemorated the Sardar Sarovar Dam reaching its full reservoir level of 138.88 metres. He also addressed a public gathering near the Statue of Unity.
