New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 15 launched a scathing attack on the opposition parties from Purnea from where he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth Rs 40000 crore.
Addressing a public rally at Shishabari, the Prime Minister said that theses development projects will serve as a means to fulfill the aspirations of Seemanchal, the eastern most region of Bihar encompassing districts of Purnea division.
The PM stated that over 40,000 beneficiaries have received permanent housing under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, noting that entering a permanent home before Dhanteras, Diwali, and Chhath Puja is a matter of great fortune.
The Prime Minister highlighted that over the past 11 years, the government has built and provided more than 4 crore permanent houses to the poor. He added that the government is now working to construct 3 crore new homes. He emphasized that prioritizing the marginalized and serving the poor is the core objective of his governance.
PM Modi noted that the terminal building of Purnea Airport was constructed in a record time of less than five months. The PM on the occasion also flagged off the first commercial flight from the newly inaugurated terminal.
“With the launch of the new airport, Purnea has now been placed on the country’s aviation map”, stressed the PM, remarking that this will enable direct connectivity between Purnea and Seemanchal with major cities and key commercial hubs across the nation.

Mentioning that the Union Government has recently taken another major decision by approving the Mokama–Munger section of the Buxar–Bhagalpur high-speed corridor, the PM highlighted that this will greatly benefit industrial hubs such as Munger, Jamalpur, and Bhagalpur. He further announced that the government has also approved the doubling of the Bhagalpur–Dumka–Rampurhat rail line.
PM Modi stressed that for the development of the nation, the development of Bihar is essential. He further highlighted that for Bihar’s progress, the development of Purnea and the Seemanchal region is crucial. The Prime Minister pointed out that the region suffered significant losses due to the misgovernance of previous governments. He stated that their government is now changing the situation. The Prime Minister emphasized that this region is now at the center of the development focus.
The Prime Minister noted that Makhana cultivation has been a source of income for Bihar’s farmers, but previous governments neglected both the crop and the farmers. He asserted that it is the current government that has given Makhana the priority it deserves.
“I had promised the people of Bihar the formation of a National Makhana Board and the Union Government has issued the notification for its establishment”, stated the Prime Minister, emphasizing that the Board will work continuously to ensure better prices for Makhana farmers and to enhance the use of technology in the sector. He further highlighted that the government has approved a plan worth nearly ₹475 crore for the development of the Makhana sector.
PM launches attack on opposition parties
Addressing the gathering PM Modi stated that those who exploited Bihar for decades and betrayed its soil are unwilling to accept that Bihar can now set new benchmarks. The Prime Minister highlighted that thousands of crores worth of development projects are underway across every sector in Bihar. He cited major achievements such as the hosting of the Hockey Asia Cup in Rajgir, the historic construction of the Aunta-Simaria bridge, and the export of Made-in-Bihar rail engines to Africa.
Launching an attack on Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal [RJD], PM Modi alleged that whenever Bihar advances, opposition parties resort to insulting the state.
“You must have seen just now that the RJD’s ally Congress party was comparing Bihar to a Bidi on social media. These people hate Bihar so much. These people have caused a lot of damage to Bihar’s reputation through scams and corruption,” stated PM Modi.
Highlighting the grave demographic crisis emerging in Seemanchal and Eastern India due to illegal infiltrators, PM Modi expressed concern that people in Bihar, Bengal, and Assam are increasingly worried about the safety of their sisters and daughters.
He recalled announcing the Demography Mission from the Red Fort to address this issue. The Prime Minister criticized the opposition alliance and its ecosystem for defending infiltrators and attempting to shield them for vote-bank politics.
“Congress and RJD have not only threatened the honour of Bihar but also the identity of Bihar. Today, a huge demographic crisis has arisen due to infiltrators in Seemanchal and Eastern India. People of Bihar, Bengal, Assam and many states are worried about the safety of their sisters and daughters. That is why I have announced the Demography Mission from the Red Fort. But for vote bank, the people of Congress, RJD and its ecosystem are busy advocating for infiltrators, saving them and shamelessly raising slogans and taking out yatras to save infiltrators who have come from abroad. These people want to put both the resources and security of Bihar and the country at stake. But today, from this land of Purnea, I want to explain one thing to these people clearly. RJD and Congress people, listen to me with open ears. Whoever is an infiltrator will have to go. It is the firm responsibility of the NDA to stop infiltration,” said PM Modi.

“I challenge the leaders who are defending the infiltrators, who come forward to save the infiltrators. No matter how much effort you put in to save the infiltrators, we will continue to work on the resolve of removing the infiltrators…This is Modi’s guarantee. Action will be taken against the infiltrators and the country will also see its good results, he noted.
