The Delhi Police’s Operations Cell of the South-West district detained four Bangladeshi nationals, including three women, from the Kapashera area. The migrants identified as Farjana Akter of Dhaka, Nazma Begum of Jessore, Resma Aktar of Palpara, and Orko Khan of Kotwali Jessore were found without valid documents and later admitted to illegally residing in India since 2017.
According to police, Head Constable Sundar Singh received credible information about suspicious Bangladeshi female migrants in the Kapashera locality. Acting swiftly, the operations team reached the spot, intercepted the suspects, and demanded identification proof. When none could be produced, interrogation revealed their illegal presence in the country.
The detainees confessed that they had crossed into India through the Bangaon border in West Bengal and Tripura state around 2017. While some had initially entered legally on short-term visas, they failed to return after the expiry of their documents, thereby becoming illegal residents.

The group disclosed that they had been staying in Delhi’s Kapashera area and were actively searching for domestic and housekeeping jobs in Delhi and Mumbai but had been unsuccessful. On the day of their detention, they were reportedly scouting for work opportunities when the police acted on the tip-off.
During a forensic check of their mobile phones and social media accounts, police contacted their families in Bangladesh and retrieved their Bangladeshi National ID cards. This confirmed their foreign identity and facilitated the initiation of deportation proceedings.
Authorities confirmed that the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO), Delhi, has begun the deportation process after completion of codal formalities. This includes the cancellation of any forged or illegitimately acquired Indian identity documents in their possession.
Senior police officials emphasized that the South-West District has been intensifying its campaign against illegal foreigners, particularly in areas like Kapashera where undocumented migrants are often found seeking low-wage employment.
“To prevent crime and monitor foreigners residing illegally in the jurisdiction of the South-West District, a dedicated team has been instructed to gather intelligence and take strict action against such illegal migrants,” a Delhi Police spokesperson stated.
