Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath asserted at a seminar that was held recently that a nation can remain secure only by protecting its citizens and eliminating evil forces.Addressing a seminar on “Challenges to National Security in India”, held in Gorakhpur as part of an eight-day programme marking the 56th death anniversary of Mahant Digvijaynath and the 11th of Mahant Avaidyanath, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath warned that nations lacking internal security face collapse. Citing Pakistan’s situation, he said it had been hollowed out by internal disorder, adding that anarchy pushes any nation towards ruin. India, however, he noted, has remained vigilant against such dangers since ancient times.
Recalling India’s ancient heritage, Yogi Adityanath said that since the Vedic period, the nation has been regarded as a mother, whose honour every true citizen is bound to defend. He noted that Indians have always stood ready to uphold her pride and dignity. Drawing references from the Ramayana and Mahabharata, he highlighted how Bhagwan Ram’s determination and Bhagwan Krishna’s pledge embody the eternal principle that protecting the righteous and defeating evil form the foundation of India’s approach to national security.
UP CM Yogi lauded the Indian Army, calling it among the best in the world. “From the freezing -50°C temperatures of Siachen to the scorching 50°C heat of the deserts, our soldiers perform their duty with unmatched courage so that citizens can sleep peacefully. He stated that despite shifts in modern warfare, India’s soldiers always ensure that enemies remain firmly in check.
Highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Panch Pran for a Viksit Bharat by 2047, Yogi stressed the importance of respecting soldiers as a pillar of national strength. He added that the seminar served both as a tribute to the Gorakshpeeth Mahants and as a reminder of India’s resolve to uphold unity and security.
Extending Teachers’ Day greetings, the Chief Minister remembered former President Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan as a philosophical teacher who could present society’s challenges with clarity.
Speaking at the seminar, Prof. Harsh Kumar Sinha from the Department of Defence and Strategic Studies at Deendayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University observed that although terrorism has declined by nearly 70 percent, new dangers like cyberattacks continue to rise, with around 761 attempts occurring every minute. He emphasized that safeguarding the nation requires courageous decisions and firm determination.
