RSS-inspired organisations have expanded their work, and separatist movements have declined in the northeast. Coordination among tribal communities has improved. In Manipur, dialogue between the Kuki and Meitei communities was facilitated by the Sangh, leading to the reopening of the national highway—an important step toward the restoration of peace, said Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Prachar Pramukh Sunil Ambekar while addressing the media on the last day of the Akhil Bharatiya Samanvay Baithak (Coordination Meet) at Lalsagar, Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
It is to be noted that, RSS has been working for the dialogue between Kuki and Meitei community since the issue started in 2023.
In the baithak, representatives from different organisations presented their field experiences, discussed current challenges, and deliberated on new directions for collective work. There were discussions on how various organisations can better coordinate among themselves. Based on these deliberations, suggestions and demands will be put forth to the Government where necessary.
This meeting will conclude on the evening of September 7 with the address of Dr Mohan Bhagwat.
In baithak on Day 2, Anwar Khan, a folk artist from Rajasthan, presented bhajans and folk songs. He was felicitated by Dr Mohan Bhagwat, Sunil Ambekar informed.
“Discussions were held on the growing role of women in RSS-inspired organisations. For example, Kreeda Bharati conducted a study last year on women athletes, analysing their issues and challenges. The study revealed that many of them practice yoga and meditation regularly. During Operation Sindoor, women from various organisations conducted 887 programs across the country, creating a positive environment nationwide. The contribution of women across all organisations is steadily increasing,” Sunil Ambekar said.
He further said that, “The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and its implementation was also discussed. Educational bodies such as Akhil Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Vidya Bharati, and Sanskrit Bharati shared their experiences and efforts on how to effectively implement NEP. They emphasised teacher training programs and strengthening the Indian knowledge system. It was noted that NEP is moving in the right direction, and the changes being made in textbooks to highlight the Bharatiya tradition are appropriate.”
On the subject of language, it has always been the stand of RSS that all Bharatiya languages are national languages. Education should be imparted in Bharatiya languages to strengthen society. Work is being accelerated in collaboration with experts to ensure that education in one’s own language progresses rapidly, he informed.
In the meeting, the representatives of various organisations shared their experiences on the current national situation. “Organisations working in Punjab highlighted issues of religious conversions and expressed concern for the neglected and economically weaker sections of society. Seva Bharati and others shared their viewpoints on how to address these challenges. The growing menace of drugs in Punjab was also discussed, with a call for counselling sessions for youth and strict action against those promoting drugs.”
“In Bengal, concerns were raised about the rising influence of illegal immigrants and the violence resulting from it, particularly regarding the safety of Hindus, especially after regime change in Bangladesh the law and order and Security is a big concern there, Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram shared its ongoing efforts and experiences in the region,” he said.
Regarding the work in the Northeast he said, representatives expressed that separatist movements are declining and development activities are progressing well across various communities. The conflict between the Meitei and Kuki communities in Manipur was also discussed. It was noted that RSS and other allied organisations have worked extensively to restore peace, and efforts are underway to bring full normalcy.
The recent floods in Punjab, Uttarakhand, Jammu & Kashmir, were discussed. RSS Swayamsevaks, along with organisations like Seva Bharati, actively extended relief and rescue operations in the affected regions, he informed.
Experiences were shared by all organisations about the situation in the Northeast. Sunil Ambekar said, Sangh-inspired organisations have expanded their work, and separatist movements have declined. Coordination among tribal communities has improved. In Manipur, dialogue between the Kuki and Meitei communities was facilitated by the Sangh, leading to the reopening of the national highway—an important step toward the restoration of peace.
The centenary year of RSS was also discussed. Plans for special programs during the year were shared with functionaries and organisations, and preparations for these events are underway. “From October 2, 2025, to Vijayadashami 2026, Sangh will observe its Shatabdi Varsh. The celebrations, beginning with a Vijayadashami programme in Nagpur, will have an address by Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat. Across the country, there will be path sanchalans by Swayamsevaks. Throughout the year, Hindu Sammelans, samajik sadbhav meetings, nagarik ghosthis, grah sampark initiatives, and youth-oriented programmes, all aimed at spreading Sangh’s work to wider sections of society, will be organised,” he informed.
He further said that on October 2, with the commencement of the centenary year of RSS, there is great enthusiasm among Swayamsevaks. For seven days before and after October 2, in every part of Bharat, Swayamsevaks in Ganvesh will celebrate the occasion with full fervour.
Responding to a question on the rise of “Love Jihad” cases across the country, Sunil Ambekar said that society must be made aware of this issue. People should have correct knowledge about it, and efforts are needed to build Hindu unity. He mentioned that initiatives by saints and sadhus and Hindu traditions should reach the youth, and various organisations are already working actively on this front.
On the issue of religious conversions, he said that any conversion carried out through force or allurement is wrong. To expose such activities, members of the Hindu society are continuously active, and RSS Swayamsevaks are also working in this direction. Organisations such as Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and others are engaging people from all sections of society to connect them with the Hindu tradition. Maths and temples too are playing an active role in this, ensuring the message reaches every section of society.
Regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) by the Election Commission, he said, “We welcome it. There must be continuous efforts to ensure transparency in elections. If anyone has a complaint, it should be made through legal means.”
On another question on language, he clarified that the RSS has always maintained that all Indian languages are national languages and deserve equal respect. No discrimination should be done in the name of language, and such divisive tendencies cannot be accepted. He emphasised, “We are not opposed to English, but India has a vast treasure of its own languages, and they must be used extensively. Work in this regard is progressing.”
On the question of why there is not a single uniform law in India, he said, “Our Constitution makers had always spoken about Uniform Civil Code (UCC). Work has already begun in Uttarakhand on this issue, and gradually the entire country will move in this direction.”
Sunil Ambekar also highlighted the Panch Parivartan (Five Transformations) initiative of the Sangh. This initiative includes Social Harmony, Family Awakening, Environmental Awareness, Self-Reliance, and Civic Duty. He clarified that this is not a decision-making meeting, but a coordination meeting, he said on September 4.
The upcoming Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal meeting will be held in Jabalpur on October 30, 31, and November 1, he informed.
Jodhpur Prant Sanghchalak Hardayal Ji was also present at the press conference.
The three-day baithak was from September 5 to 7. In the baithak, the focus was on reviewing the activities of the inspired organisations and planning for the RSS’s centenary year programs.
