International Criminal Police Organisation, popularly called as the INTERPOL, is the world’s largest transnational police network. It helps to combat international crimes such as terrorism, money-laundering and human-trafficking by providing network, database and other investigation supports. Interpol has colour-coded notices such as red, yellow, blue etc. to swiftly share the information across the global police network. Red notice is predominantly issued to arrest the wanted culprits.
CBI, as the National Central Bureau for Interpol in India, coordinates with all Law Enforcement Agencies in India through BHARATPOL for assistance via Interpol channels. More than 100 wanted criminals have been returned to India in the last few years through coordination via Interpol channels.
