Assam CM, Himanta Biswa Sarma today alleged that numbers of people who are part of a systematic ecosystem are roaming in the state to spread unrest. Former IAS Harsh Mandar and senior advocate Prashant Bhushan are roaming across Assam and meeting with a section of people from 23rd August. Likewise, another group led by Jawhar Sircar, Wajed Habibullah and Fayaz Shahid are also roaming in different districts of lower Assam and meeting with a section of people.
These people had meetings with Muslim leaders of the state and even had discussions with Jamat e Islami leaders. This group was active in the state during the NRC update process and failed the process by engaging various techniques to help the intruders and spreading unrest in the state. They are now starting a new endeavour to create panic and spread unrest in the state specially taking the eviction drives as a reason.
CM Sarma said that the government is tracking their movements and security agencies are keeping a track so that they can’t create a situation like the NRC period and get success. The Congress party, Jamati Islami e Hind, Prashant Bhushan, Harsh Mandar and some groups from Bangladesh and Pakistan are trying to spread unrest in Assam. We need to remain united to prevent this conspiracy against Assam, CM Sarma said.
CM Sarma also said that the evicted people’s name will be cut from the voter list of that particular area. The prime agenda of the Miya Muslim encroachers are to invade the Hindu majority constituencies and specially in the upper and North Assam regions.
They want to enter the upper and North Assam region and we are trying to fail their modus operandi. Our previous generations had failed to do that but we are trying to save the upper and North Assam to avoid lower and middle Assam like situation. After eviction, their names will be definitely cut from the voter list, he said.
