After 10-15 years, 80 per cent of people in Asaam’s politics will be Bangladeshi origin Muslims, Congress leader and ex MP of Barpeta Abdul Khalek said this on Monday in Guwahati. Khalek said, “unknown people will be known in the future. CM said the politics of Assam will be filled with unknown people. Yes, after 15 years 80 per cent of people will be from those unknown people”, Khalek said. CM Sarma, in his Independence Day speech, said that unknown people have captured all major economic and political fields of Assam. Citing the example of Cab drivers, he said that 80 per cent of drivers are from that pool of unknown people.
Reacting to the speech of CM Sarma, Congress leader Khalek said that after 15 years, 80 per cent of people in Assam’s politics will be from those unknown people. CM Sarma referred to the term unknown to describe the Bangladeshi origin Miya-Muslims. On Congress leader Khalek’s comment, CM Sarma said, Yes, of course, the coming days will be very tough for the Assamese people. He said that the amount of aggression shown by the Muslim people in Assam will make it very difficult for Assamese people to survive in the state. What the BJP government has done in these 5 years and what we are going to do in the next five years will prevent the aggression of Miya Muslims for the next 40 years. After that, the new generation will have to think about the survival of Assam and Assamese, the CM said.
Taking a jibe at the leaders of the regional party “Asom Jatiya Parishad” who recently met Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi, CM Sarma said those people who don’t have any ideology will only hang around the neck of the Gandhi family. I did that and I realised by mistake, and I came out. He earlier said that he wished he could have joined the BJP 15-20 years ago and serve the nation as he is doing now.
